Rescue Fire Department Members Honored for Their Work with Peer Support Therapy Dog Ash at Hearts 4 Heroes Gala

Roseville, CA - The Rescue Fire Department is pleased to announce that Fire Captain Brett Jones and Aja Marquis have been recognized for their exceptional work with Ash, the department's peer support therapy dog in training, at the 2023 Hearts 4 Heroes Gala.

The annual Hearts 4 Heroes Gala, held on May 12th, 2023, celebrates the outstanding work of first responders in our community. This year's gala focused on recognizing individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to improving the mental health and well-being of our local first responders.

Fire Captain Brett Jones and Aja Marquis have played a vital role in supporting the mental health of Rescue Fire Department personnel through their work with Ash the Fire Dog. Ash is a therapy dog in training who provides emotional support to firefighters and other first responders who may be struggling with the emotional toll of their work.

Since 2022, Captain Jones and Marquis have worked tirelessly to ensure that Ash is available to provide support whenever needed. Their dedication and hard work have helped to create a supportive and caring environment within the Rescue Fire Department, ensuring that all personnel feel valued and supported.

The Hearts 4 Heroes Gala recognized the important role that Ash, Captain Jones, and Marquis play in supporting the mental health of our local first responders. The gala was attended by prominent community leaders, including  elected officials, as well as representatives from local businesses and organizations.
